Executive Summary

Gender-based violence is a major problem faced by women world over with 70 % of violence faced by women are within homes and yet getting out of such abusive or violent relationship is a very difficult decision for majority to make.

In Uganda, more than two thirds of ever married women (68%) have experienced one kind of gender based violence 1 (Uganda Bureau of Statistics,2006).
