Female genital mutilation/circumcision (FGM/C) is a worldwide concern affecting many ethnic groups. It is estimated that around 140 million women and girls undergo some form of FGM/C worldwide.
Female genital mutilation (FGM/C) is most common in Africa and the Middle East where 125 million girls and women aged between 15 and 49 years old have been cut in these regions.
