UWONET organized a series of events to grace and honor the first ever national women’s week (1st – 7th October 2012).
The activities included: A Charity drive and support to the children affected by Nodding Disease in Northern Uganda and a visit to the Uganda Cancer Institute, show casing women’s contribution to national development through exhibitions, pro bono services including legal aid and health clinics, a grand opening, parallel sessions including debates, presentations, drama, case studies and testimonies, ending with a grand finale of the women achievers award ceremony presided over by H.E. President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.
