Strategic Objective

To enhance collaboration and women’s capacity to influence actions to advance economic justice to promote GEWE by 2028.

Women’s economic marginalization and dependency is a key factor that continues to widen gender inequalities. Therefore, addressing women’s economic transformation is a catalyst to achieving women’s rights.

Economic policies that are gender-responsive and adequately funded can remove structural barriers to women’s economic empowerment, including addressing gender inequities in managing the disproportionate distribution of unpaid care and domestic work among women and men.

UWONET will work towards influencing the formulation and enforcement of processes, policies, laws and programmes that promote women’s access to economic opportunities and collective action to influence change from a feminist economist point of view.
