Executive Summary

The gender equality agenda in Uganda is blessed with positive legal and policy environment. Over time, various provisions have been established within the National Legal Framework to foster gender equality. This has been followed by wide ranging initiatives to promote gender equality.

However, it is apparent that achievements have been below expectation as most of the laws are not enforced leaving the vulnerable women susceptible to vices such as GBV and deprivation of economic opportunities.
