This is a brief report presenting results from a comprehensive gender based baseline study conducted on Rapid Care Analysis (RCA) and Household Care Survey (HCS) in Lamwo District in Acholi Sub–Region in Northern Uganda in August 2014. Lamwo is one of the seven districts in the Acholi sub–region.
About five in ten people in Lamwo District are illiterate (Uganda National Household Survey (UNHS) 2009/2010). Again in this District, about seven out of every ten people are poor. In this region, just like in many other parts of the world, gender inequality is still high.
